Last weekend I had my first photoshoot for my portfolio. I met with Erica, her husband and their 3 boys at Altona Beach Pier. Erica had gotten in touch with me to ask if I could get some photos of their family at the pier before it is closed and rebuilt later on this year.
The original pier at Altona Beach was built in the 1800s and a significant amount of work was done to repair it in the 1950s. Unfortunately, the pier was damaged by a severe storm in 2021. Work on the new pier is due to start later this year with the new pier to be completed in late 2023.
I was unsure what the weather would turn out like as it had been a bit rainy the morning of the photoshoot where we live a few suburbs away. Thankfully, sun was shining when I arrived in Altona, and although it was a bit windy, it was such a lovely day!
The boys had so much fun running around on the sand, getting their feet wet in the water, playing stacks on, and even jumping off the pier! It was such a joy to capture some beautiful memories for Erica and her family to treasure and I can't wait until the next time they come and see me to capture some more magical moments!
